The basic TECOMAT FOXTROT CP-2090 module includes a central unit with two independent Ethernet interfaces, one USB device interface for connecting a superior system and one USB host interface for connecting an external memory (USB Flash drive). The basic module includes an integrated 4 x 20 character display and 7 buttons. In addition to system configuration and diagnostics, the display and buttons can also be used in the user program. The basic module also includes a slot for inserting an additional micro SD memory card (not available in variants with WLAN1 interface).

Some variants of the basic module are equipped with an internal WLAN1 interface for WiFi networks or an LTE1 interface for GSM networks (see below). The TCL2 system bus can be connected to the basic module for communication with peripheral devices of the FOXTROT family and one line of the CIB Common Installation Bus® (a trademark of Teco a.s., hereinafter referred to as CIB) for communication with the modules of the CFox family.

Additional CIB lines can be connected using external CF-2141 CIB masters that connect to the base module via the Ethernet interface. Optionally, the basic module can be equipped with two submodules with serial channels or additional TCL2 system buses.

Central units in FOXTROT CP-2090 systems belong to the I series. These units have the following features:

- 1 MB memory for user programs

- 128 MB internal file system incl. to archive the project

- optional FRAM 128 / 256 KB memory for archiving DataBox data (size depends on the variant)

- 320 KB of memory for variables, of which 48 KB for RETAIN variables

- RTC real time circuit

- integrated web server

- integrated data logger

- the ability to change the user program online (without stopping the control)

The mode and diagnostic messages are displayed on the integrated display.

TECOMAT FOXTROT 2 programmable automats represent a new generation of control systems based on the previous TECOMAT FOXTROT series. They are small compact machines with the possibility of modular expansion. They thus combine the advantages of compact machines in terms of size and modular systems in terms of expandability and variability.

The individual modules of the system are enclosed in protective plastic housings that are mounted on a ČSN EN 50022 U-rail. Thanks to this, they can be manipulated without the risk of damaging the sensitive CMOS elements. The entire system is designed in accordance with the ČSN EN 61131 standard.

The basis of the system

FOXTROT 2 is a basic module containing a central unit, various combinations of inputs and outputs and, in most variants, a built-in 4 x 20 character display and 7 buttons.

The basic modules of the TECOMAT FOXTROT 2 series are equipped with two independent 10/100 Mb Ethernet interfaces. Optionally, they can include a WLAN interface for WiFi communication and an LTE interface for communication via the GSM network.

For serial communication, up to 2 submodules can optionally be installed in the basic module, each containing 1 or 2 serial channels with RS-232 or RS-485 interface. Thus, the basic module can be equipped with up to four serial channels. Another 6 serial channels can be added using SC-11xx modules on the TCL2 bus. RS-232 / RS-485 interfaces, CAN interfaces or wireless network are available here.

Building an extensive system

If necessary, the basic PLC module can be extended by connecting peripheral modules. Peripheral expansion modules are connected to the CPU via serial buses. Thanks to this, the individual parts of the TECOMAT FOXTROT system can be distributed in a decentralized manner, so that the individual modules are located directly at the controlled technologies, thus saving power cabling.

Connection with the master system

The entire system can communicate with superior systems (PCs, operator panels, etc.), which can be used both to monitor and control the controlled process. The personal computer is also used to create and debug the PLC user program.
